Themes » Adding New Themes
You cannot upload any themes to your WordPress.com blog. This means that you cannot upload any of the themes available from our WordPress.org theme repository or any other site which offers WordPress themes for download. This functionality is exclusive to privately-hosted blogs and sites using the WordPress.org software. You may use any of the 70+ themes available to you from Appearance -> Themes in your blog dashboards.
If you consider yourself to be CSS-savy, you may purchase our Custom CSS Upgrade, which allows you to edit the stylesheet of any WordPress.com theme.
As we are always looking to add new themes to WordPress.com, please feel free to request the addition of any theme. You can either contact support with the request or drop a line in the Ideas Forum.
Of course, if you do require the ability to upload themes, you may consider switching to WordPress.org. Suitable hosts can be found here.
