How to Delete a Blog

To delete a blog, you can go to the Settings > Delete Blog page. An email confirmation step is required.

If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog name. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it. If you are unsure, you can change the blog to private and no one will be able to read it. If you decide to use it later, you can switch it back to a public blog.

Do NOT delete a blog to transfer it to someone else.
Do NOT delete a blog to create a new username.
Do NOT delete a blog to get rid of old posts or other content.

If you are absolutely sure you want to delete a blog, check the box for I’m sure I want to permanently disable my blog, and I am aware I can never get it back or use blogname.wordpress.com again and then click the Delete My Blog Permanently button.

The next page will give you a message and ask to check your email.

You should receive an email with a link that can be used to delete the blog. If you are absolutely sure you want to delete the blog, click on the link.

After clicking the link from the email, the blog will be deleted.

Any visitors who visit the URL will see a message like the one below.

Accounts
