Adding a Poll

When Automattic acquired PollDaddy, we fully integrated polls into WordPress.com. To add a PollDaddy poll, just click on the orange lollipop icon above the editor.

If you are using polls for the first time on WordPress.com you will be prompted to create or import an account. Choose either option and then follow the instructions.

Additional Info

When clicking on the orange PollDaddy poll icon you will see a list of any polls you’ve created.

There are several options there to edit the poll, view results, delete, preview, send to editor, and get the HTML code.

You can add a PollDaddy poll to your sidebar with the same process above, but copy and paste the shortcode into a text widget. If you would like to use a previous poll in your sidebar, use the HTML code link on the poll list for a poll that was created previously.

Each poll can only be displayed once on a page. So if you have a poll in a post and the sidebar, only the first instance of the poll will show. You can show 2 or more different polls on one page though.

You can also access Polls from the menu.
