Deleting Accounts
There is no way to delete WordPress.com accounts. Before you contact support, please understand that there are no security risks associated with this policy. Your account information is not visible anywhere on WordPress.com. If you wish to leave WordPress.com, simply leave the account inactive. It will not be used in any way.
Deleting accounts could result in several issues with our software, so accounts are permanent.
If you are trying to delete your account in an effort to simply create a new one with your e-mail address, please follow these steps:
- Log into your current account (the one you were trying to delete).
- Access your user profile and change the e-mail address. This will free up your primary e-mail for use.
- Once the new address has been verified, log out of the account.
- Go to http://www.wordpress.com/signup and attempt to register a new account with your e-mail address.
NOTE: It may take some time for our system to completely release your e-mail address for use with another account. Please be patient, and if a large amount of time lapses, please contact support for further assistance.
To delete a blog, you can go to the Settings > Delete Blog page. An email confirmation step is required. Please see the Delete Blog page to learn more.
